Fire safety for fuel stations
A fuel station puts flammable liquids alongside the public, shops and restaurants on one site, so its study has to cover both together.
Station safety is about controlling the hazards: fuel tanks and dispensers, the electrical classification of the hazardous zones around them, separation from shops and neighbouring buildings, and emergency shut-off and first-response extinguishing. Attached shops, restaurants and car washes carry their own requirements on top.
We have worked on the SASCO, LITER and Petroly station networks in the Eastern Province. For networks we use one study template, then review each site's differences in area, facilities and neighbours.
