Fire safety for malls and retail
A mall is one building that never stops changing: every new tenant alters fire loads and layout, and the systems have to stay compliant each time.
Malls combine peak-hour crowds, open volumes such as atriums and malls, and storerooms and kitchens behind the units. Design therefore starts from occupant load and exit capacity, then smoke control in the open volumes, then the sprinkler hazard class in storage areas.
We have worked on Cenomi malls across the Kingdom, Al Rashid Mall, LuLu Mall, Al Andalus Mall, and chains such as Carrefour, Hyper Panda, Othaim and Jarir. That volume has taught us that most problems appear at tenant fit-out, not in the original design.
